Origin Notes and History:

Ocean Falls (Post Office, mill town) was adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Ocean Falls (settlement) 13 March 1947 on 93 SW. Form of name changed to Ocean Falls (Post Office and Steamer Landing) in the 1953 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Ocean Falls (community) 28 February 1983 on 93 D/5.

Ocean Falls Post Office opened 1 August 1912; closed 23 August 1913. Re-opened 15 May 1916.
