"Tamihi Creek (not Tamihy nor Tammeahai)" adopted in the 12th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 30 June 1913. Confirmed 6 October 1936 on 92H, and 5 April 1951 on 92H/4.

Spelled "Tummeahai Creek" on original boundary survey, 1869. Spelled "Tamihy Creek" on BC Lands map 33, Yale, 1912. Spelled "Tomyhoi Creek" in Washington State records, 2004. The preferred modern spelling is T'amiyehó:y, meaning "hollering the ones that are finished." (Stó:lo Nation)
