"During the construction of the [Monkman Pass] highway, 1937-39, a bridge was made crossing a small stream just south of Stony Lake. The newlyweds Truman and Mildred Bangan, followed shortly be another recently-married couple, Marvin and Bernice Johnson, were first to cross the new bridge, which came to be known as 'Honeymoon Bridge'. The creek it crossed took on the same name." (from Monkman Pass Highway, by E.C. Stacey [no further details] )
