Origin Notes and History:

Norns Creek adopted 6 December 1951 on Columbia River Basin manuscript 14 as an established local name, not "Pass Creek" as had been labelled on Geological Survey sheet, West Kootenai, 1890, and other maps through the early 1920's, nor "Norns (Pass) Creek" as had been labelled on 1926 map, Robson; and on BC map 4A, 1926; and on BC Mineral Reference map 4, 1929, etc.

A February 1997 suggestion to change the name back to Pass Creek, to reflect the historic name, did not receive any apparent support from residents or regional district representatives (file T.1.47)
