Origin Notes and History:

Nootka (P.O. and Str. Ldg) adopted 6 November 1934 on 92E/10 as an established name and as listed in 1924 Gazetteer and as labeled on Reference Map 2C "Vancouver Island, Northerly" (1919). Feature type change 3 December 1959 to landing, as labeled on C. 3661, as post office closed 6 December 1953. Likely named in association with Nootka Sound and Island.
