Adopted 2 November 1956 on 92 C/9, as originally submitted to the Geographic Board by R.D. McCaw 14 July 1939 for approval and use on 92 C/8-9. Parkinson Creek, and several other names on McCaw's list, were labelled on the subsequent 1943 edition of 92 C/8-9, but had been overlooked for adoption by GBC. Listed in 1953 gazetteer.
