Long history of "Cadboro Point" and "Ten Mile Point" alternating positions on hydrographic charts. The point or extremity is exactly 10 nautical miles from Esquimalt Harbour, following the course a ship would take. (1964 advice from Mr. Rutley, Canadian Hydrographic Service). Modern local usage of the name "Ten Mile Point" refers to the entire peninsula, rather than either the SE- or NE-facing extremities of the peninsula).
