"Geo. Thomas Creek (not Ellieot nor Elliot Creek)" identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC Lands' map 5D, 1929. George Thomas Creek confirmed 24 July 1945 on 104SE. Name changed to Thomas Creek 11 December 1952 on 104G, as recommended by Dominion topographic survey division.
