Origin Notes and History:

Nicolum River adopted in the 18th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 31 March 1924. Form of name changed to Nicolum Creek 22 May 1942 on 92H/6 as recommended by Dominion Topographic Survey to more accurately describe the relative size of the feature. Name changed back to Nicolum River 16 January 1991 on 92H/6, being the long-established local name for the feature.
