Named after Captain Nemo of the submarine Nautilus ("Mysterious Island" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", by Jules Verne) because of it's proximity to Nautilus Mountain. So-named by climbers Sterling Hendrix and Arnold Wexler in 1957 (Canadian Alpine Journal, Vol XLIII, 1960, p.37) and submitted 5 September 1959 by Samuel Silverstein, who had climbed many peaks in this area the previous year.
