Named by William Fowler DeVoe, BCLS, a member of the 1913 survey party in Strathcona Park, in memory of his older brother, Heber DeVoe (1882-1912?). See also Mount Judson, named by DeVoe for his father. Tragically, William DeVoe drowned later that season, and is the namesake of Mount DeVoe. "Mts. Judson and Heber...were climbed and named by the late William F. DeVoe who was my assistant on the work..." (letter from W.J.H.Holmes, BCLS to F.V.Longstaff, 24 March 1924, BC Archives manuscript F.V.Longstaff #677, V.405, #317) Probate records confirming given & family names supplied January 1995 by Lindsay Elms, Strathcona Park Lodge (file B.1.38)
