Until the early 1960's Bear Creek logging camp was at the mouth of Bear Creek (air photo BC4066 #123, July 1962); that camp abandoned and Bear Creek logging camp relocated about 3 miles north, near mouth of Cogburn Creek (air photo BC4064 #47, July 1962). Bear Creek School identified in 1965-66 Schools list.
