East Sooke (Post Office) identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to East Sooke (settlement) 7 January 1947 and coordinates confirmed at 48 22 - 123 42 on C.3642. Form of name changed to East Sooke (community) 15 February 1983 and coordinates adjusted to 48 22 - 123 41 on 92B/5.
