Named by N.C Stewart, BCLS, after the oldest inhabitant of Buttle Lake at the time of the survey, 1936. Reid was the caretaker of Titus Lodge on Buttle Lake; an old timer, trapper, cougar hunter and guide; a well known, fine character (1938 advice from Stewart)
