Joffre Creek adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as identified on preliminary name list for BC map 2B, 1914 (file N.1.14), not "Sunday River" as labelled on 1860 sketch map by Sapper Duffy, RE, nor "Duffey Creek" as labelled on published edition of BC map 2B, 1914. Joffre Creek confirmed 6 September 1951 on 92J. Application extended 23 February 1976 on 92J/7 and 92J/8; headwaters at icefield, 50 20 - 122 28 on 92J/8.
