Named to remember BC Land Surveyor Lieutenant Frederick Thomas Piercy Cond, who served in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve during the Great War. Taken ill on his return to Canada and died at Halifax 17 April 1919. See Corporation of British Columbia Land Surveyor's Roll of Honour . See also BC Gazette notice 22 June 1916, wherein Cond provided notice and petitioned to change his first given name from Fritz to Frederick.
