Named after Leslie and John Evans, father & son, who disappeared in the spring of 1966 in the valley between Edge and Blanshard Peaks. An extensive search failed to find them and they are presumed dead. Mr. Evans knew the mountains well and had frequently led groups of young people on hikes in that area; he was exploring potential routes to a mountain summit on the day he and his son disappeared. (30 June 1966 letter, file L.1.56)
