Named by Dr. James Hector after Captain Arthur Brisco, 11th Hussars, who accompanied Palliser's expedition in 1859.

Captain Arthur Brisco, 11th Hussars, one of the heroes of the Charge of the Light Brigade. He was a great friend of John Palliser, and joined him during his explorations in 1858-59.
