"The crest of the mountain resembles a beautiful female face turned upwards, and owing to the wild surroundings, suggested the name of the heroine Ayesha in Rider Haggard's 1905 novel, 'She'." (James White, Place Names in the Rocky Mountains, Transactions Royal Society of Canada, Sec III, Vol 10, March 1917 p.508). Note however that the feature is labelled "Aysha Peak" on Dept of Interior map of Wapta Icefield, 1903-4, published in Canadian Alpine Journal Vol 1, No 1, 1907, opp. p 152, ie. the name predates Haggard's novel.
