Origin Notes and History:

Goldstream River adopted 30 June 1911 in the 10th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, as labelled on BC Lands map "Southeastern Districts of Vancouver Island " 1892 et seq. Appears, in error, as "Goldstream" (without the generic "river") in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Confirmed as Goldstream River 6 November 1934 on Ottawa file 1449-5.

First known as Gold Stream, referring to the gold diggings in the river. Not labelled on Pemberton's 1855 map, nor is Goldstream Land District identified. Goldstream Land District identified on Mohun's 1884 map of British Columbia.
