Name suggested August 1970 by Lornex Mining Corporation (letter, file M.2.28), in association with the lake of the same name. "The company-owned townsite is being developed to provide housing for workers employed at its nearby open-pit copper mine. It is following growth patterns associated with boom towns of the past..." (Victoria Colonist, 9 September 1970). Logan Lake Post Office was opened 9 August 1971.
