Atnarko (settlement) adopted 7 February 1947 on 93SW, as labelled on BC map 2E, 1924; form of name changed to Atnarko (locality) 12 February 1962 on 93 C/5.

Anaham Post Office opened here 1 November 1907, located in the NW 1/4 Lot 309; name changed to Atnarko Post Office 1 February 1913; closed 16 February 1932. In 1959, George New, BCLS, advised that the few people living here are settled in Lot 310 (although the 1959 edition of map 93C locates the settlement near the north edge of Lot 771.)
