Prior to flooding of the Arrow Lakes behind the Revelstoke and Keenleyside Dams, this section of the Columbia River was very narrow, hence fast flowing. Extends 23+ km, determined by velocity: from the southern limit of Upper Arrow Lake 50° 08' 17" x 117° 48' 39" in the vicinity of McDonald Creek to the northern limit of Lower Arrow Lake 49° 58' 56" x 117° 54' 17" in the vicinity of Caribou Creek at Burton.
