Origin Notes and History:

Incorporated as a District Municipality 26 April 1873, called the Corporation of the Township of Langley. "Langley (Municipal District)" adopted in the 18th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 31 March 1924, p.357. Re-approved 11 February 1936 on 92G/2 as labelled on BC Lands' map 2B, 1914. A small portion on the western side of the Municipality was re-incorporated as the City of Langley 15 March 1955.
