Name proposal and 1:125 000 map received June 1980 from Island Mountain Ramblers; very clearly the location shown on the 1:125 000 map was not accurately transferred to 1:50 000 name location sheet 92 F/12, hence the text was misapplied on subsequent editions. Application altered to conform to location as originally intended by proponent, and to correspond with the location of the cairn and register left at the summit in 1975.

Named by Island Mountain Ramblers to acknowledge the female members of the first climbing party, May 1975. However, MS also happens to be the initials of the leader, Margaret Symon, casting ambiguity over the intent of the Island Mountain Ramblers proposal....
