Established by Order in Council, 1 March 1913. Area added per OIC 1268, 9 April 1974, the whole now containing 543,204 acres more or less. Redescribed per OIC 1201/90. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000; the whole containing 224,866 ha. more or less. Boundary redescribed per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole containing approximately 224,852 hectares. Boundary redescribed per Bill 24-2007: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 3 May 2007; the whole containing approximately 224,374 hectares. Area expanded per Bill 15: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 19 May 2010, the whole now containing approximately 225,285 hectares. Per Bill 17 - 2021: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 2021; the whole park now containing approximately 225 286 ha.
