"...means 'mountains are hard'. The name was supplied by an old Indian of the Tahltan tribe, who was familiar with the country and who now lives at Telegraph Creek. His command of English was inadequate to property express the meaning of certain Indian [names]. The spelling....[is phonetic] and may not represent the true interpretation."
