"...means 'mountains are hard'. The name was supplied by an old [member] of the Tahltan tribe, who was familiar with the country and who now lives at Telegraph Creek. His command of English was inadequate to properly express the meaning of certain [names]. The spelling....[is phonetic] and may not represent the true interpretation."
