Established per Order in Council # 1582, 4 May 1971, containing 60 acres more or less. Boundary extended per OIC #2095, 2 June 1972, the whole containing 80 acres more or less. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 50:2004, Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole containing approximately 32 hectares. ER# 20. Purpose for establishing this reserve: Protection of calcicolous vegetation, hydrology and geology as well as ecosystems representative of the Interior Douglas-fir zone. Ecological Reserves are areas in British Columbia selected to preserve representative and special natural ecosystems, plant and animal species, features, and phenomena. Ecological Reserves provide the highest level of protection for the maintenance of physical and biological diversity while allowing for research and educational activities.
