Mineola Post Office was opened 1 March 1916, located on Lot 2558 Osoyoos District. The area is generally known as Meadow Valley, located on the Brigade route between Kamloops and Penticton. "[Meadow Valley] was a community of 125 people in 1920, with a school of 25 pupils, a store and post office at Mineola. This was created by a farming community and a large sawmill that moved out in 1923. Now there are 10 families in the valley, dependent on farming."
