Origin Notes and History:
Standish Ridge was adopted 9 August 1966 on 82O/4 by British Columbia, and 17 October 1966 by Alberta - the name originally submitted to the Geographic Board in Ottawa by the superintendant, Banff National Park (file C.2.56). Form of name changed to Standish Hump on 28 July 1986 by Alberta, and 7 October 1986 by British Columbia, being the long-established local name. The joint decision to amend the name was never signed by Parks Canada, hence federal maps continue to label this Standish Ridge. Joint decision to adopt Standish Hump signed by Parks Canada 27 March 2008.
