This was the location of the Brechin Mine, as identified on BC map 2A, 1913, and on Geological Survey sheet 33A, Nanaimo, 1915.
"This mine has been idle since May 1st, 1913..." (1913 BC Mines Report, p.344). Identified as a suburb of Nanaimo in 1947 Directory.
