Adopted 12 December 1939 on 92H, applying to the entire upland area bounded by Coquihalla River, Nicolum Creek, lower channel of Sumallo River, Snass Creek and Sowaqua Creek.

The name "Manson Mtn" originally applied to the single feature at 49° 19'' 43" x 121° 12' 47" as labelled on Geological Survey of Canada publication #1897, Coquihalla River Area, 1923 (subsequently adopted as Macleod Peak).
