Origin Notes and History:
Fiordland Recreation Area established by Order in Council 470, 14 March 1987, containing 91,000 ha. more or less. Recreation Area status cancelled and re-established as a Conservation Area per Bill 28-2006: Park (Conservancy Enabling) Act, 3 May 2006.
