The Nisga'a name of Nass Lake is Magoonhl Lisims. A site on a small peninsula on the east side of Nass Lake is of cultural and historic significance to the Nisga'a Nation; a 3/4-hectare site will be designated as a Provincial Heritage Site under the terms of the Nisga'a Final Agreement, Appendix F-1, effective 11 May 2000.
