Origin Notes and History:

Powell River (Town) adopted 31 December 1945 on C.3591. Incorporated as a District Municipality 15 October 1955, called The Corporation of the District of Powell River, and including the former villages of Cranberry Lake and Westview. Re-incorporated as a City Municipality per Order in Council #724, 5 October 2005, effective 15 October 2005.
