The name "Arum Lily Lake" was originally submitted July 1982 by Ruth Masters, Comox District Mountaineering Club, "....because it has a rather surprising growth of Arum Lillies - skunk cabbage." However this is an error (the common name of skunk cabbage is "yellow arum") and Ruth re-submitted a proposal in August 1982 as Arum Lake.
