After Canon Rowen E. Grice-Hutchinson, first Anglican Missionary in the area, who spent the years 1913-16 and 1919-23 living at Sorrento and travelling to all the settlements along the main lake [Shuswap Lake] and up Seymour Arm; he died at home near Cheltenham, England, in March 1977, age 90.
