Origin Notes and History:

Adopted 7 April 1949 on C.3738 as suggested in 1948 by Hydrograhic Service in association with nearby Sarah Island.

After Sarah Work ( -1906), second daughter of John Work, chief factor Hudson's Bay Company, and wife of Roderick Finlayson, also a chief factor HBC. She died at Victoria 26 January 1906.
