Alliford Bay (Settlement) adopted 3 July 1946 on 103/SE, as listed in Wrigley's 1928 Directory; form of name changed to Alliford Bay (Steamer Landing) 5 April 1962 on 103 G/4, then to Alliford Bay (Landing) 9 May 1966; so-listed in the 1966 BC Gazetteer.

From time-to-time Alliford Bay has been mis-spelled in steamer timetables as "Aliford Bay".

1963 field survey indicates that houses and buildings were moved from here to Juskatla in the summer of 1963. Private craft can still tie up to wharf at the head of the bay; water taxi to Queen Charlotte City docks at Kwuna Point.
