Karmutsen Range adopted 3 June 1947 on 92L/6. Spelling changed to Karmutzen Range 26 April 1965 on 92L, to conform to the spelling of nearby Karmutzen Mountain, in turn identified in G.M. Dawson's 1897 map & report for Geological Survey of Canada.
