Yankee Flats (Settlement) adopted 1 October 1959 on 82L/NW as a local name according to 1958 Geographic Culture Check, and as listed on school card and 1948 Directory. Form of name changed to Yankee Flats (Locality) 29 November 1984 on 82L/11 and on Ottawa file 203-2.
