Adopted 7 March 1933 on Ottawa file OBF 1420, as labelled on British Admiralty Chart 1923A, 1927, and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, and as labelled on Geological Survey sheet 278A, Prince Rupert, 1933, etc. Application confirmed 13 March 1947 on 93SW, applying to the section of Gardner Canal between Whidbey Reach and Kitlope Anchorage.
