Sparwood (Station) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC map 1EM, 1915; confirmed 6 April 1950 on BC map 4D. Incorporated as a Village 6 October 1964; re-incorporated as a District Municipality 12 May 1966, called District of Sparwood. Sparwood (District Municipality) confirmed 31 December 1977.
