Comox-Strathcona Regional District incorporated by letters patent 19 August 1965; name confirmed 4 April 1974 on MCR-5, sheet 3. Comox-Strathcona Regional District dissolved and restructured by Order in Council 1 February 2008, effective 15 February 2008, the area now divided into the Comox Valley Regional District and the Strathcona Regional District, to correspond to the geographic and economic communities in this region.
