Carlolson Mountain was adopted 6 May 1924 on Geological Survey publication 2038, Kokanee Glacier Park. Identified as Olson Mountain in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Mount Olson 24 January 1962 on 82F/NW.
