Letter from Post Office Department 19 September 1942, announcing the intention to open Glade Post Office, 1.4 miles south of Shoreacres in the Electoral District of Kootenay West; named in association with the nearby station (Columbia & Kootenay Branch, CPR). Letter from Post Office Department 13 November 1942, advises of their decision not to proceed with the establishment of the Glade Post Office.
