Beady Mountains adopted 1 June 1937 on Geological Survey sheet 381A, as labelled on BC map 1H, 1917. Form changed to Beady Range 17 January 1952 on 104I, being a more accurate description of the feature (letter from Mr. Bostock, file E.1.36)

Possibly after J.C. Beedy [sic], identified in 1886 BC Mines Report as a prospector in the Stikine area. See also Beady Creek near Dease Lake and Bead Creek near Barkerville.
